GUARDIANS OF PAUATAHANUI INLET
 

GOPI Aims

Pauatahanui Inlet has been identified by Greater Wellington Regional Council as an outstanding landscape based on its characteristics and values, and in their Regional Coastal Plan as an area of significant conservation value.

The Guardians of Pauatahanui Inlet:

  • Support the implementation of the Pauatahanui Inlet Action Plan by the management agencies and support the Pautahanui Inlet Community Trust in its role to ensure the Plan is actioned
  • Inform and educate the public about the Inlet
  • Prepare submissions on plans, proposals, and resource management applications affecting the Inlet and its catchment
  • Promote research and monitoring on the state of the Inlet and undertake some monitoring directly
